Hi! Welcome to my first blog post of Life of Ella – Here are some things I have been loving in the month of August.
The Body Shop Seaweed range
I first tried the Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Exfoliator (a Body Shop best seller!) and Balancing Clay Mask a few months ago, when the Body Shop had a 3-for-2 offer on. I had been looking for a new face cleanser to use on a daily basis (my skin isn’t that bad, but it can get quite oily, and also very dry) so my sister and I decided to try them both out.
Recently, we repurchased the Exfoliator after running out, and I really love it. It helps clear up any spots I may have, my skin is less dry and oil-free and is left feeling super soft. The mask is good for when I feel my skin needs a pick me up. Not too long ago I bought the Oil-control lotion with SPF 15. I will hopefully update after I have used it for a while, but so far it is doing what it says.
Chromebook – Lenovo IdeaPad
Getting my new laptop has inspired me to take up blogging again. The laptop I had throughout university was becoming very slow, although it served me well, running all the software I needed. One thing I won’t miss is having to cart around a 17-inch, heavy laptop around campus if I wanted to get any work done. I am excited to be able to take this laptop travelling when I go on holidays and my trips to London – and who knows…maybe I will start becoming one of those people who spend time working from a good coffee shop too!
TV I’m loving…
The Good Place
My boyfriend and I started this recently, and I think it’s brilliant! It’s a great series to just binge-watch and the storyline and characters are easy to follow. I love Kristen Bell’s character, Eleanor Shellstrop, as well as the character of Janet. If you haven’t seen it already, I highly recommend adding it to your Watchlist!
Music I’m loving…
Gabrielle Aplin – Losing Me
Having been a huge fan of Gabrielle Apin since the release of her first album English Rain back in May 2013, and seen her live three times, I was really excited to hear her recent single. I think she’s done a great job, although different to her usual songs, it really suits her, and the video is awesome too!
Freya Ridings – Freya Ridings
I had heard of her through her songs being on the radio and in the charts for a while. I had heard of Castles and Lost Without You before I briefly saw her set at Glastonbury Festival on the TV. I immediately added the album to my Spotify, and have booked tickets to go see her in November at Leeds O2 Academy. I love how all the songs are different yet powerful. It’s such a lovely album.
Quick note also – Taylor Swift’s new album is also insanely good!!!
I recently returned from a week down in Salcombe with my parents, my brother, his girlfriend and my boyfriend. We stayed nor far from the centre, just off Island Street, one of the man roads into town. The ice creams have been to DIE FOR!! We visited the beach a few times, as well as sitting by some amazing viewpoints, eating delicious pasties.
I would love to hear, what have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments!
